So this afternoon Mom & Dad went to Westworld out in Scottsdale as they went to the Dog Agility event… LINK and Dad came back with some really cool photos (SEE LINK)

Lemme step up on my soapbox and get this off my chest….

IF YOU DON’T WANT SOMEONE TO TAKE PHOTOS, WOULD YA PLEASE BOTH TO EITHER MENTION IT AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR “PRESENTATION” OR ON A FRICKIN’ SIGN BY THE NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES!!!!!
I AM SORRY FOR THE CAPS, BUT I HAVE HAD IT!

Is it really THAT tough to GIVE someone the COURTESY to let them know YOUR wishes ahead of time, vs “Uh sir we don’t want photos ….”

Mom & Dad are going to a Dia De Los Muertos event today (Dia De Los Muertos actually runs Oct 31 - Nov 2) while it sounds morbid, it actually isn’t as it is paying respect and tribute to those who are no longer here (for me in my Dog life.. I can think of our cats, Bix and Chelan).

So today Dad came home and tells us that Sur la Table called him and they have a COMPLIMENTARY PERSONALLY SIGNED book from Giada waiting for him.

This was very cool of them to step up and take care of Dad after the cluster “F” they had in regards to the ticket and the lack of shared information when he called. Dad says he will go to pick it up on Saturday.

So Dad didn’t get to meet Giada today and sign her new book for him….

…….since no one told him that he had to pre-buy a ticket.
(Oh and he called the Kierlan Commons Sur La Table location on Wed to clarify their signing process….)

Dad told me that Mom & Dad were like # 75 in line when they arrived with their chairs @ 9am …

At 10am Mom held their spot in line and Dad went to get his book and when he asked about the ticket he heard mentioned in the crowd and the Sur la Table bitch behind the counter told him he HAD to have a ticket and they were … guess what…??
S O L D O U T ….
that’s right folks…  Dad then told me that the ol’ shit hit the fan at Sur la Table to say the least as he chewed them out for not telling him when he called SPECIFICALLY to find out their process……

Then later Dad got an upset stomach (not related), then got “bit” by Rosendo’s new bird, and to top it off..
the damn Red Sox won’t go away…  What a Saturday…

So Mom & Dad went to the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phx and really said it was a nice day (but just a bit too windy), went they got home we of course got to go outside and it was much cooler than it has been since… March (maybe…?).

Dad of course took a ton of photos (SEE HERE) and Mom says he got some good ones.

OK so a few weeks ago, Simba “discovered” this new toy he REALLY likes and for a cat that doesn’t really play (or do much) he is totally crazy over this thing.

He bats it around, chases it, MEOWS at it, carries it in his mouth (and MEOWS), hits it in me and Nick, etc… Dad says he will TRY to get a photo of him carrying it in his mouth, but doubts he will be able to. But after he played with it for about 90 minutes last night (yes 90 minutes) and then again for about 30+ minutes, maybe he will be able to get that shot (if I don’t take that damned toy first!!).

After 5 1/2+ years with Cobalt, Dad’s remote assignment ended yesterday (he knew it was coming from about a month ago) and he has new job prospects that he is am working on (more to come on that shortly). So today he is taking it easy and doing some overdue stuff around the house this week. We (me, Nick and the cats) will miss having him around all day, but know he will be happy with a new job and the idea of making new friends (maybe they will bring me food….!!!).

Hard to believe it’s October already… but Nick and I are enjoying the cooler weather out on the patio and the walks with Mom & Dad in the neighborhood.

Hi everyone,

Dad just got after me since I had not posted in a while… I guess he’s right since it has been a while.

I was watching from my bed by Dad’s desk as he was watching again about Randy Pausch and his “Last Lecture” (SEE LINK).

I think Dad sent out an email reminder about him as well to a bunch of you. If you didn’t get that email, let Dad know and shoot him an email.

Let’s see, anything else new? .. it has started to cool down (except the last couple days) and laying out on the patio is REALLY nice now!

Well I think Dad is making something in the kitchen so I better go see if I get anything… WOOF!!!!
